Dog Days: June

A dog can express more with his tail in seconds than his owner can express with his tongue in hours.

  1. And generally with more warmth - and certainly with more honesty.
Though mind you our German Shepherd's tail was dangerous. She could (and did) clear coffee tables with it on a regular basis.
I hope your weekend market went well.
    Hugs.

    1. Absolutely and most certainly, with more honesty for sure.

Shepherds have quite the tail for sweeping... like lovely, lush brooms. Our shepherds would do the same.

The drizzle kept a few people away on Sunday, but, it wasn't too bad an attendance for a winter market, fortunately :)

  2. Oh, I love the dog posts, Vicki! And this quote is quite true... and quite true for most animals in general, I think. Our kitty Charlie can be very expressive with the tail sometimes. ;o) I will miss him on our trip now. Sometimes I wonder if the world be a more simple place to dwell in if we were more like animals--a swish of a tail saying so much, and that's all we'd need to communicate. Interesting to think about! Look forward to catching up with you again soon when we get back. Happy Days ((HUGS))

    1. Aww, of course you miss your sweet Charlie. And, his warm cuddles.
Yes, animals let us know in no uncertain terms what they think of us ;)

Hope you're enjoying a great time with family and friends. Wishing you a safe return.
      xx

  3. How is your lovely doggie going?

I was thinking about my doggie Lester last night and feeling like time is doing her healing thing. I was wondering if he goes on in some other dimension and the thought of that - along with the thought that even if he doesn't, I still got the pleasure of a life with him. But I much prefer (a) rather than (b) and I know your take on this :) I think from time to time of your doggie appearing to you. I was thinking about it the other day when it was misty and foggy :)

    1. Jack's well, thanks Sue. He has Progressive Retinal Atrophy, and so his sight is slowly worsening. But, we make sure he's comfortable at all times, and he gets around pretty well. He's still very eager to go for walks in open, familiar places like parks and ovals. His olfactory senses are amplified, and he loves new, interesting smells and wee-mails more than ever!
He's a happy boy - just sleeps a lot more now - dear old soul :)

It takes such a very long time for the heart to heal after the loss of a dearly loved companion. Memories of your lovely Lester will forever be with you, and your life is richer for that.
I'm positive it's not just our human loved ones who watch over us ;)

  4. So true! The family dogs were all together last week. In the morning, I would go into great room to see them patiently waiting for their families to wake up. All I had to whisper---o hi o go sigh mas (Japanese for good morning) and those tails wiggled. Outside we all went while everyone else slept in. Such heaven on earth are happy dogs.

    1. Those tails and eyes give them away - every time!
It's so nice that we can really on our dear furkids to tell us the truth, as they know it :)

  6. He's beautiful, and I believe the eyes and ears talk as much as the tail.

    1. That's what's so amazing about animals, they use their whole body to express what they feel.
      A pure, simple, honest language.
