Misty Monday

  1. Gorgeous - and I could almost hear the magpie calling. While lots of our birds are NOT melodic I think that the magpie is an exception. I love their gurgle, and when I have been overseas it spells home to me.

  2. And, the call was eerie in the misty stillness.

  5. Wonderful photos. Lovely one of Jack. I can almost feel the mist! Autumn mist has a softness that feels caressing. I love how the mist beads up on top of hair. It looks like a glistening crown....

    1. A crown of glistening pearls threaded through one's hair - lovely Charlene.
And, I agree, it does feel like a cool caress on the skin :)

  6. Yay, the mist, the mist!! :)

I woke up yesterday morning and couldn't go back to sleep. And an image popped in my head of a nighttime scene of trees in fog with a full moon. And so I started writing ... and two hours later stopped writing with a fully-formed story! It's as magical when that happens as being in these hills in winter in the mist :) Love these pics, Vicki.

    1. It IS magical Sue! And to be so inspired by a misty moon filled dream is wonderful. Would love to read more about it :)

Sometimes, when the mist is so thick, I imagine another world hidden, just out of sight, within the swirling cloud.
      Like Brigadoon :)

    1. I get so incredibly excited when I see the mountain swathed in mist.
I'm glad that you love the magical mists of autumn too Tam.
And Jack seems to love it almost as much as we do! :)

  8. Oh, the pictures of the mist are beautiful! How I wish it were like that here right now. Love the photo of the magpie! I've never seen one in person, as they don't live here, but I wish they did. I think they're so beautiful in their black and white 'clothes.'

    Blessings,

    Victoria

    1. We get to swap our seasonal beauty Victoria - me, here, on our autumnal misty mountain and you, there, on your summery sparkling, magical lake and surrounding beautiful countryside.

Yes, the "maggies" are so lovely, donned in their formal attire, singing their wonderfully melodic tunes to the world around them :)
