Lost and Found

World weary, yet wise, from a life long lived.
Sporting threadbare patches from years of cradling hugs and comforting strokes when woken from bad dreams in the middle of the night.
Ears, tattered and torn, have kept many secrets whispered into them.
Silent tears absorbed by his now faded fur.
Worn seams, carefully stitched so as not to lose his fortitude… and his stuffing.
That knowing look - still there, long after the shiny twinkle has gone from his old boot button eyes.

Outgrown. Abandoned. A childhood relic, relegated to memory.
Consigned to an old hat box, placed within a wooden chest and stored in a cobwebbed corner.
Waiting. In the dark.
To one day be brought out into the light - and into the arms of another.
Touching the heart of the inner child.

Friends forever.

  3. Hugo is wonderful! I love him, it was love at first sight. Will you tell him a woman in California loves him? I hope the person who buys him is special...well, of course, they would be or else they wouldn't buy him. Give him a hug from me (and give yourself one, too).

    Blessings,

    Victoria

    1. I will hug and tell him about the lovely lady who lives on a magical mountain far, far away, and who has creatures of the forest as her friends. He'll be most interested :)

  4. HUGO... isn't he sweet! A forever friend, for sure! I love his sad look, but you can feel his courageous heart beating--he holds so much, so much of your own heart! :) After the sad news happening in the world, I think we all need such bears for a cuddle and to help us "keep calm and carry on"... ((HUGS)) to you, Vicki, and sweet Hugo too!

  5. Oh sweet.......

And what a sweet way, to get back into regular blogging. I know we both wondered, how to do so. And both knew, we had to do so. But we both found the way.

    Gentle hugs, Tessa
